The Cryogenic Butterfly Valve is designed to withstand the harsh conditions felt when dealing with cryogenic fluids and the benefit of quick operation due to the quarter turn design. Hobbs’ Cryogenic Valve can handle fluids as low as -196 DegC and is available in sizes from 2″ up to 48″.
Features and Benefits of Hobbs Cryogenic Butterfly Valve:
- Triple Offset design & Unique sealing method: Results in zero leakage performance which allows full isolation to be maintained at cryogenic.
- No open cavities: Fluids are unable to stay trapped after valve operation, resulting in no clogging, low maintenance requirements and longer valve life.
- Metal to metal sealing: Sealing is barely affected by low temperature and therefore valve performance and operating torques do not suffer with temperature.
- No Keyways or Pins into shaft of Valve: A square shaft along the full length of the drive chain eliminates the problems of a weaker shaft, the problem of shearing and allows a lower torque actuator to be used to automate the valve.
- Extended Bonnet: with an adequate gas column to keep the shaft packing away from cryogenic fluids – can be specifically designed to suit all applications.
- Low fugitive emissions: Quarter-turn technology reduces emissions making this Valve more environmentally friendly.
