Red Hat Solenoid Valves by Asco Numatics

A Solenoid valve is an electromechanical valve for use with liquid or gas.  The solenoid valve is comprised of a coil, coretube, core and enclosure and is controlled by an electrical current through a solenoid coil.  Solenoid valves are used for many application processes most frequently for control elements in fluidics.  The task of solenoid valves is to shut off, release, dose, distribute or mix fluids

ASCO Redhat brand offers the worlds largest selection of 2/2, 3/2 and 4/2 solenoid valves which have been specifically designed to handle the most demanding fluid control applications.

ASCO Redhat solenoid valves function in the following ways:

  • Two way solenoid valves
  • One inlet and one outlet used to permit and shut off fluid flow.
  • Two operations can occur: Normally closed and Normally open

Three Way Solenoid Valve

  • Three pipe connections and two orifices, when one is closed the other is open and vice versa
  • Often used alternately to exhaust pressure from and apply pressure to a valve actuator or a single acting cylinder
  • Three operations can occur: Normally closed, Normally open and Universal

Four Way Solenoid Valve

  • Four or five pipe connections referred to as ports
  • One pressure inlet
  • Two cylinder ports which provide pressure to double acting cylinder or actuator
  • One or two outlets to exhaust pressure from cylinders

Different types of ASCO Redhat solenoid valves

Condensate Drain Valve Assemblies

Range features:

  • Standard 2/2 solenoid valves
  • Piston valves
  • Adjustable electronic timer

Designed to automatically drain condensate in compressed air systems

Direct Mount Solenoid Valve

Range features:

  • 3/2 solenoid valves
  • 4/2 solenoid valves

Both have valves with NPT pipe connections and mounting configurations that have been replaced by NAMUR mounting configuration

Allows valves to be mounted directly to an actuator without useing hard piping or tubing.

Dust Collector Solenoid Valve

Features of this series include:

  • High- flow fast-opening 2/2 solenoid valves
  • Pilot valves
  • Pilot valves enclosures
  • Bulkhead fittings

All have been designed specifically for use in dust collector systems

Group Mounted Solenoid Valve

Series includes:

  • 2/2 2 position valves
  • 3/2 2 position valves
  • 4/2 2 position valves

All have been designed for gang mounting into varying quantities of valves

May be grouped together in any combination of:

  • Normally closed
  • Normally open
  • Universal

Isolation Solenoid Valves

Incorporate a diaphragm that shields the fluid flowing through the valve from the internal solenoid components making them ideal for handling corrosive or high purity fluids.

These valves are available with in-line porting or manifold constructions and in a wide variety of inert materials.

Manual Reset Solenoid Valve

These series are standard:

  • 2-way,
  • 3-way and
  • 4-way 2-position valves that

Use a manual reset assembly in replacement of the solenoid

They are designed to prevent inadvertent valve startup in their designed failure modes.

These series are available in no voltage release, electrically tripped, and free handle constructions as well as latched open or latched closed for 2-way valves

Medical/Analytical Solenoid Valve

Micro-Miniature General Service, Isolation, and Pinch solenoid valves for the reliable control of fluids and gases in medical equipment and analytical instrumentation.

Pinch Solenoid Valves

Suitable for;

  • Corrosive fluids
  • High purity applications
  • Fluids with particulate

Control fluid flow by locating soft tubing in a mechanism that constricts the tubing to block flow and releases to allow flow

S Series Solenoid Valves

ASCO Numatics produce commercial application solenoid valves which are developed and engineered with ASCO Numatics global resources.

ASCO S Series s a compact solution for 2/2, 3/2 and steam valve applications

Operates in 15°F to 125°F ambient temperature locations

This solution includes DIN connection for easy wiring, compact brass bodies and encapsulated coils.

Options include:

  • 15″ leads
  • Alternate elastomers
  • Manual operators
  • Mounting brackets

Benefits for using ASCO’s RedHat Solenoid Valves

ASCO’s RedHat solenoid valves deliver many benefits to the end user such as:

  • Reduced power consumption
  • Ability to run on AC or DC power
  • Can be used indoors and out doors
  • Only 2 watts of power needed to deliver the same performance as a typical 17 watt AC solenoid

Withstand harsh conditions

  • certified for use in hazardous locations and watertight applications as outlined in Class I, Division 2 of the National Electrical Code.
  • Meet all NEMA Types 1 through 4X requirements for water and dust tight applications

Handle Extreme Temperatures:

  • The solenoid valve withstands ASCO Numatics thermal shock testing and can serve at temperatures from -40 to +200ºC

Development Assistance:

  • Solid technical support provided by specialists for ASCO Numatics engineers in
  • Part design
  • Tooling
  • Processing

Selective materials used to optimise applications needs such as:

  • Resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals
  • UL94 V-0 Flammability classification
  • Excellent stability
  • Resistance in thermal shock testing
  • Outstanding performance in the injection molding process
  • Resin contains 30% by weight of glass fibre reinforcement
