Asco Cryogenic Solenoid Valves

Cryogenic service

  • Cryogenics is the study of very low temperatures, how to produce them, and how materials behave at those temperatures. For example, metals frozen to low temperatures have more resistance to wear.
  • In recent years modern technology and a better understanding of cryogenics has lead to the ability to research and use materials taken into the cryogenic range of temperatures (below −150 °C).
  • Cryogenic treating has since been used to increase longevity and reduce the wear of engineering tools and processes.

ASCO’s Solenoid Valves for Cryogenic Service:

  • ASCO produce Cryogenic Solenoid Valves, they are 2/2 Solenoid Valves that can function in the extreme temperatures associated with cryogenics.
  • ASCO Cryogenic Solenoid Valves continue to work at temperatures as low as –320°F (-196°C) for cryogenic fluids and–75°F (-59°C) for Liquid CO2.
  • They work with cryogenic fluids such as liquid oxygen, liquid argon, and liquid nitrogen.
  • ASCO’s Cryogenic Solenoid Valves can be operated in any orientation, require minimal current and are good for continuous or intermittent use.

Direct Operated Core Disc for Cryogenic Service 1/8” – 3/8”

Includes: 8262LT series and 8263LT series

Direct acting normally closed solenoid poppet valves available either AC or DC operated with brass bodies which can be used with:

  • Liquid oxygen applications
  • Liquid argon applications
  • Liquid nitrogen applications

Features of ASCO’s Cryogenic Solenoid Valve for 1/8” – 3/8”:

  • Cope with the extreme temperatures encountered when controlling cryogenic fluids up to -196°C
  • All valves are degreased, cleaned, tested and packed to keep them free from moisture
  • Liquid oxygen valves are “backlight” tested to check for any hydrocarbons
  • Do not require a minimum operating pressure
  • Come with stainless steel seats

Pilot Operated Hung Piston for Cryogenic Service ½” – ¾” and 1” – 1 ½”

Includes: 8210LT Series and 8222LT Series
