ISO Roundline Cylinders

A single-acting ISO pneumatic cylinder works with the fluid operating on one side of the roundline cylinder only. A single-acting ISO pneumatic air cylinder relies on a spring in order to push the piston back in the other direction. Using pressure from the compressed air to create a driving force in one direction, and a spring to return to the original position, the single-acting roundline cylinder is an ideal component due to reduced air consumption, easy actuation and defined position in the case of a power failure.

A double-acting ISO pneumatic air cylinder works with the media operating on both sides of the piston. Working in alternate motions in order to create a constant force, double-acting roundline cylinders are often used in applications where an external force is not available. They consist of two ports; one for outstroke and one for instroke. The piston rod is capable of long stroke lengths. Commonly used in steam engines, double-acting ISO pneumatic cylinders use the force of air to extend and retract strokes.
