A rotary actuator is a device that creates a rotary movement by using a shaft to control the speed and rotation of attached equipment, such as valves. Rotary actuators can produce either continuous rotation or movement to a fixed position, depending on what application they are servicing. The most common rotary actuators are electrically powered but you can also get pneumatically or hydraulically powered devices.
Rotary actuator applications can range from air core gauges to valve actuators that operate a pipeline and process valves. Rotary actuators are used in a wide variety of process applications including medical & laboratory, food & beverage and almost any application that requires a rotary motion.
MGA Controls are proud partners with Norgren, a market leader in pneumatic components and instrumentation. Formerly known as Bosch Rexroth, Norgren supply a comprehensive range of Pneumatic equipment that has been painstakingly designed to cover almost any application.
Norgren pneumatic rotary actuators are available in a range of bore sizes depending on the load they need to move and are available with 90°, 180°, 270° and 360° strokes. They can also be fixed or adjustable, so very precise movement can be achieved.
