Temperature Switches

About Temperature Switches

These switches are employed to trigger specific actions, such as turning on or off a heating or cooling system, activating alarms, or controlling other processes based on temperature conditions.

Temperature switches operate based on a predetermined temperature setpoint. When the ambient temperature reaches or exceeds this setpoint, the switch activates a response or control action. Their primary function is to initiate a switching action. This action can involve opening or closing an electrical circuit, activating an alarm, or triggering other devices based on the specified temperature threshold. Depending on the design, temperature switches can have normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) contacts. The switching action occurs when the temperature reaches the set point, altering the contact state.

Different types include snap-disc or snap-action temperature switches, capillary thermostat switches, and digital temperature switches, each designed for specific applications. Regular maintenance and calibration are essential to verify the accuracy and reliability of temperature switches over time.

Temperature switches are essential components in temperature control and monitoring systems, providing a simple yet effective means to regulate and respond to temperature changes in various industrial and commercial settings.
