Pressure Transmitters by Ashcroft:

The release of the GC51, GC52 and GC55 Pressure Transmitters was to close the gap in Ashcroft’s product line of pressure transmitters to provide better service to users and OEM’s.  All three models have local digit displays and pressure ranges that can be adjusted by the user.  The GC51 and GC55 are for high pressure applications and the GC52 is for low or no pressure applications.

GC51 Rangeable Pressure Transmitter

Features of the GC51 Rangeable Pressure Transmitter:

CVD Polysilicon thin film technology

  • The polysilicon thin film sensor makes the product suitable for high life cycle with high overpressure applications

Up to 8 times smaller than other process transmitters

Compound and gauge reference ranges up to 7500psi

Robust NEMA 4X (IP65) aluminum die cast housing

LCD display has

  • Bright backlight
  • Ability to rotate display easily
  • 90° increments

Scaling function allows display to indicate arbitrary physical units

Min/Max “Capture” technique so pressure events can be captured and recorded

Internal push button configurability allows quick user pressure range changes of 10% to 110%, Zero & Span adjustment

“Loop Check” function allows unit to output 4-20mA without applying pressure

All parts are stainless steel wetted parts

2 wire 4-20 mA

Welded, SS, sensing assembly

Rugged, aluminum, IP65 J-Box enclosure

Applications of the GC51 Rangeable Pressure Transmitter:

The GC51 uses the polysilicon thin film sensor which makes it suitable for applications where high overpressure and high life cycle are critical.

Such as:

  • Pump Control
  • Hydraulic Systems-Monitoring and control
  • Compressor Control
  • Process Automation
  • Municipal Water -Tank Level, Pumping
  • General Industrial Applications- Compressor control, Process automation, Hydraulic systems

Example of Tank Level for Water / Wastewater Application:

Measure water levels in the water tower

Water level is directly proportional to pressure

Tank is elevated 100ft above ground and connected by a stem pipe.

99% of the water volume is in the tank, and therefore the customer wants 4-20ma to measure only tank level

Output of GC51 can be field scaled to “suppress” or “null” out stem height and output signal proportional to only the level in the tank

GC55 Wet/Wet Differential Pressure Transducer

Two polysilicon thin film sensors give a wet/wet, high differential, pressure measurement

The GC55 Pressure Transducer has features that allow the it to provide direct flow readings by measuring differential pressure across a restriction.

Features of the GC55 Wet/Wet Differential Pressure Transducer:

Ranges from 75 to 300 psi

LED display has

  • Bright backlight
  • Displays pressure and switch status

Internal push button configurability allows the user to change the range quickly & relay adjustment

External Push Button allows user to display P1, P2 or DP without opening cover

Two sensor design

  • Is ideal for high differential pressure ranges
  • Means three measurements variable in one device
  • Output, display and switch settings can be set by the user to monitor – P1 – High pressure port, P2 – Low pressure port, P1 and P2 Differential pressure

Stainless steel wetted parts

Aluminum die-cast housing

Outputs -Transmitter and 2 relay outputs

  • 1-5V (3) wire; (2) Relays 40Vdc, 200ma
  • 4-20ma (3) wire; (2) Relays 40Vdc, 200ma

Applications of the GC55 Wet/Wet Differential Pressure Transducer:

  • Level measurement in large size and/or pressurised tanks
  • Pump monitoring of building hydronic heating and cooling systems
  • Filter monitoring – Water purification, Hydraulic systems
  • Pressurized tank level measurement

The GC52 Rangeable Wet/Wet Differential Pressure Gauge

The GC52 Differential Pressure Gauge takes pressurised and non-pressurised tank level measurement and liquid / gas flow measurement

Features of the GC52 Rangeable Wet/Wet Differential Pressure Gauge:

Incorporates the Ashcroft Si-Glas™ silicon variable capacitance sensor technology making it ideal for use with low pressure applications

Si-Glas sensor

  • Inherent stability
  • Perfectly elastic material
  • Single crystal structure
  • High sensitivity (low noise)

8x smaller than other process transmitters

Uni and bi-directional ranges from 4-400 in H20 (10-1000mbar)

LCD display

  • Bright back light
  • Easy to rotate
  • 90° increments

Internal push button settings allows the user to record the correlation between pressure and flow rate

Built in square root extraction calculation to give a representative flow measurement

Flow totalization counter to display accumulated volume of passed fluid can be activated

Scaling function allows display to indicate arbitrary physical units

All stainless steel wetted parts

  • 2 wire 4-20 mA
  • Robust NEMA 4X (IP65) aluminum die cast housing

High static (line), up to 300psi

High proof, up to 30 to 100psid (varies with range)

Rugged aluminum IP65 J-Box enclosure

Easy to set-up and install, the GC52

Provides a highly cost effective method to acquire differential pressure based flow measurements

Applications of the GC52 Rangeable Wet/Wet Differential Pressure Gauge:

Ideal for applications where reliable, low differential pressure measurement is required with line (static) pressures up to 300 psi are needed.

Such as
