General Process

General process or process manufacturing is that branch of manufacturing that is often just referred to as the ‘process industry’ and embraces many more specific industry sectors such as the chemical or petrochemical industry, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, consumer packaged goods or put simply, where the processing of bulk resources are made into other products.

There is invariably much cross-over between process manufacturing and discrete manufacturing and consequently also in the types of valves and instrumentation used to control flow, temperature, level and pressure.

Supplying valves suitable for general process applications can often mean addressing many important critical factors. These can include managing steam, high temperatures and/or dealing with abrasive media. Consequently, valve materials will need to be carefully considered in all these types of application areas. As an example, valves with soft seats and seals will have obvious temperature limitations. To combat this, we can offer a range of metal seated ball valves without O-Rings or soft parts. This will greatly extend the temperature capability of this product range.
